Pinot noir

Pinot noir

  • 17. Oktober 2014

Pinot noir (Blauburgunder), a red wine grape variety of the species Vitis vinifera, is quite common around the Bodensee. Is widely considered to produce some of the finest wines in the world, but is a difficult variety to cultivate and transform into wine. When young, Pinot noirs tend to have red fruit aromas of cherries, raspberries and strawberries, changing to complex vegetal aromas in its development. …

Yes, well, we gave it a try, maybe in an rather unexpected way for some passing promenaders. In fact, the conditions where not much comfortable … more like „glühwein“, than a good glas of Pinot noir. Somehow, weather did not smile on us a lot this summer. Due to the cold weather, these pictures are some of the few made hand held, rather than with a tripod, what I usually do.

By contrast, mosquitoes liked us a lot this afternoon. Especially my model Sophie – sweet as she is – got bitten quite a lot. I didn’t expect mosquitoes in vineyards. Seems like we have chosen the grapevines of an organic vigneron. 🙂
